1500 Years Old Bible found in Turkey?
Over the last several weeks, the issue of an early Bible manuscript found in Turkey and allegedly supporting Islamic doctrine has been pushed in various media outlets. By now, Google lists thousands of pages – online newspapers, Youtube videos, blogs, discussion boards, etc. which cover this “news.”
What exactly are the claims? What is established fact? What is mere imagination? What are the questions that need to be asked and answered?
Here are the most essential articles that I have found so far which together appear to present convincing evidence that this artefact is a relatively recent forgery, not a genuine ancient Bible manuscript.
- Not-a-1500 Year Old Bible in Turkey by Timothy Michael Law
- The '1,500' Year Old 'Bible' and Muslim Propaganda by Peter BetBasoo and Ashur Giwargis
- A 1500-year old Aramaic bible in Ankara (Turkey)? by H.L. Murre - van den Berg
- The antique Syriac Bible by P.J. Williams (notice also the comments to this blog posting)
(More evidence to be added as it becomes available …)
