WILLS AND BEQUESTS

In Islamic jurisprudence, a person can only bequest up to a third of his or her property to people not his legally prescribed heirs. The rest is passed on according to the rules of inheritance. The commands regarding inheritance in the Qur'an are, however, not free of contradictions.
